This course is designed to teach supervisors and managers how to recognise what motivates employees to create a more productive and engaged workplace. Everyone is motivated by different things, and knowing what motivates each person and what connects them to the workplace is important.

Participants will learn:

  • The definition of motivation 
  • Common motivational theories and how they apply 
  • How to create a motivational climate

 

Coaching and Mentoring

1 day

Coaching and Mentoring are essential skills for workplace supervisors and leaders.  In this course coaching is grounded in a partnership that involves giving both support and challenging opportunities to employees, while mentorship is a related skill that includes being a guide, offering wisdom and advice when it is needed.

This one day training course includes:

  • How coaching can be used to develop a team
  • The coaching and mentoring skills that help improve individual performance
  • The behaviours and practices of an effective coach
  • How to recognise employees’ strengths and give them the feedback they need to succeed
  • How to identify employee problems and ways that they can help correct them

 

Leadership Skills for Supervisors

Giving Effective Feedback 

1 day

This one day training course is designed to help workplace leaders learn how to provide quality feedback. Whether feedback is formal or informal, and whether it is provided to employees, peers, or someone else, there are ways that it can be structured to be effective and lasting.

In this course participants will learn why the way we deliver is feedback is important, how to deliver a message so that people accept it and make changes that may be needed, and how to accept feedback that we are offered.

This workshop will help participants learn how to:

  • Explain why feedback is essential
  • Apply a framework for providing formal or informal feedback
  • Use descriptive language in delivering feedback
  • Describe six characteristics of effective feedback
  • Provide feedback in real situations
